meet Lac Mei Che, an authentic chinese restaurant, owned and run by chinese people (not indonesian chinese) in Kota Area. After the huge hit of Hu Nan Kitchen around this area too, authentic chinese especially the one offering alternative other than cantonese or hakka food is opened in some area of Jakarta. I don't know why but I already found two restaurants that use some sort of sterilized package of eating utensils (wrapped in plastic) What's that for?? Okay.... Ambiance is bad, no seperate smoking area. Two storey house changed into a restaurant with loud chinese guy drinking and smoking and laughing heavily over something I don't understand is not a good ambiance to dine. BUT, a restaurant is a place to eat and in this department Lac Mei Che doesn't disappoint. I haven't eaten kerang nene (snails) in a very long time and I was ecstatic when I saw it on the menu. YUMMY!!! Spicy and savory with the stickyness of the snail is an experience. Orderd their pan fried pork and cabbage dumpling and again satisfied. I had better this one is not bad. Last but not least, the spicy sour pork. The sauce is think, tangy and sweet, coating the crispy fried pork. Yummyyy Don't bring children or babies when dining here since the air is smoky.
